Above Ground Storage Tank (AST) and Underground Storage Tank (UST) Assessment & Remediation including SPCC
A comprehensive assessment and rapid response of a suspected or confirmed release from an AST or UST is fundamental to reducing long-term remediation costs. ECA scientists, engineers, and geologists have experience conducting initial site characterizations and investigative assessments, developing and implementing corrective action plans (CAPs), and managing short- and long-term remediation which can include tank removal or closure-in-place, soil source removal, in-situ injection, groundwater remediation, and implementation of advanced technologies. Our collective experience and approach allow ECA to manage all scopes from time of release through regulatory closure.
SPILL PREVENTION CONTROL AND COUNTERMEASURES (SPCC) PLANNING
ECA staff also has experience with compliance related requirements such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans. Generally, an SPCC is required by the EPA if more than 1,320-gallons of petroleum exists in ASTs and/or more than 42,000-gallons of petroleum exists in USTs. An SPCC is developed to prevent petroleum spills and effectively plan to minimize impact if a release were to occur. Our team of engineers and geologists will work with appropriate site personnel to outline procedures, equipment, and controls to help maintain regulatory compliance.
